The replacement therapies (NRT) as gum, patches and nasal sprays do not help you stop smoking in the long run, according to a U.S. study.

“This study shows that NRT are more effective in helping people quit smoking in the long run than trying to quit for yourself,” said Hillel Alpert, lead author of the research conducted by the School of Public Health Harvard University.

Alpert and colleagues studied 787 adults in Massachusetts (northeast) who had just quit, and found that many who were NRT fell over time in the same proportion as those who did not follow.

Study participants were surveyed in three periods: 2001-2002, 2003-2004 and 2005-2006. Relapse rates were not only the same among those using NRT and those not, but the study found that highly dependent smokers who followed a TRN without professional support were twice as likely to relapse than those who did not follow this therapy .

“This may indicate that some highly dependent smokers receive NRT as a kind of pill ‘magic’, and realizing that it is not, are without support in their efforts to quit smoking, doomed to failure,” said study published in the journal Tobacco Control.

Although previous studies controlled at random showed that NRT was effective in helping smokers to quit smoking, recent research shows the weakness of the trials in the general population in a real environment, the authors argued.

The study also showed that very few people follow the recommendations for use of NRT for eight weeks, many opt for shorter periods of use.

TRN industry soared since the outbreak of nicotine gum in 1984, according to the information in the article. At that time, NRT products industry represented a $ 45 million in the U.S..

Since the adoption of the OTC NRT in 1996, the industry sector increased to $ 800 million per year. Additionally, sales of prescription drugs for smoking cessation totaled $ 841 million in 2007.

Today, more public funds to subsidize smoking cessation treatments for low-income Americans: 39 state programs covering one or more types of NRT in 2011, compared to 17 in 1996.

The rate of smoking in the United States has stabilized at around 20% of the population over the past five years after a period of steady decline.

“What this study shows is the need for the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) … approve only drugs that have proven effective in helping smokers to stop being in the long run and reduce nicotine lower the addictiveness of cigarettes, “said study co-author Gregory Connolly, director of the Harvard Center for Global Control Snuff.

Method to quit smoking
Vicente Pinto says: “In the world market there are many ways trying to get people to stop the snuff, drug varieties, hypnosis, acupuncture, homeopathy, laser, endless therapy sessions, etc.. Also, there are many self-help books . No go back on the market potential varieties to choose from, in my case is not so. ” Why? “My method to quit smoking is based on that you can clear the need, desire, the urge to smoke since day one and that’s what I do.” But … How to quit smoking? Vicente Pinto has an answer Who is Vincent Pinto?

Vicente Pinto is someone with scientific and technical training, 25 years ago discovered a natural ability or “gift” , which until now was unknown. Just bring your hands, could alleviate or cure the pain or illness of the people around him. After consultation with the President of the Parapsychology Association of Spain and his suggestion, decided to develop this capacity and in recent years been applied to people seeking smoking cessation . What is your method of quitting smoking? The same Vicente Pinto says: “My method to quit smoking is a capacity, a natural gift that some people have to heal others, from the empirical reasoning can not currently understand what’s going on why people are cured. ” He adds: “You can clear the need, desire, the urge to smoke since day one and that is what I do. It’s like after eating plenty of fill, and we would not need more food because they eat again. ” “Who is it just because smokers consider quitting seems an impossible task to the extent that the purpose only generates more desire to continue smoking.

” However, “Yes!, you can quit smoking, what actually happens is we do not understand how it can be life without the snuff ” he says. Since its consultation in Madrid, Vicente Pinto offered to those who come seeking their services, an individual monitoring of each case to stop smoking. The method includes the deactivation of the desire to smoke and whether it is effective in your case, from day one will feel you do not want smoking more. To see if you can help in you off the addiction to snuff , Vicente Pinto will give an explanation of his method and will make a series of questions to see if it is the best time to quit , because if you’re going through by emotional or sentimental difficult situations, it may not be the best opportunity to try.

Chewing gum for smoking cessation are of great help to all those who require some extra incentive to quit. That is why, knowing this modality can be of great help. Are you chewing gum give the possibility to continue to consume nicotine, so that the body does not feel the impact so strongly and to help you more easily leave the snuff.

Chewing gum for smoking cessation have become, over time, in a more than healthy when quitting. Are treated in a chewing gum containing nicotine, to be casting a gradually in your body as you eat and that can help you quit smoking more easily. Many times, the withdrawal is a major cause, to whom he had left part of smoking, resume your habit. Consuming these holes get stop smoking, but continue to consume nicotine, allowing you to leave the service more easily and without you noticing.

Quitting smoking has become one of the most common failed promises of modern life. Relapse to smoking increases because the tobacco industry uses chemicals and substances that are even more toxic than nicotine and generate a powerful addiction.

When you can live without a cigarette, it is important to understand that you have not changed a thing about you, but you completely. But while you will not be the same without cigarettes, every day you do not recognize in you the habit of a better person.

If you are determined to quit, these fourteen natural remedies to help you change your habits a successful experience.

Believe in yourself . It sounds corny and a little absurd, but most of the symptoms of withdrawal occur on the head and that’s where the whole battle will occur. In moments of weakness, is common to believe that you are not able to quit. We are all capable of changing and improving our lives to a healthier you. Believe this. Use positive statements and keep them on hand to remind you command your own limits.

Use some remedies to help you cope with stress will build up and deal with your anger . Some supplements that may help are the sage tea, lettuce, warm milk or meditation.

The skin is considered a third lung. I can not leave the lungs or the colon, try out the skin, via the lymph nodes, causing bad odor, acne, dryness and other disturbances. To help your body deal with toxins and speed up the detoxification process chemistry test realizarte a lymphatic drainage.

Carbon dioxide leads to accumulate up to seven years in the lung, because they do not breathe well. A good way to clean the last traces of nicotine in your lungs, along with heavy metals and other toxic substances, is deep breathing. You can do it at home or auxiliarte with a yoga class.

Oolong tea . It is the best remedy for quitting I know. Helps detoxify the lungs. Even among those who have not quit. Besides having great taste and multiple health benefits, rapidly eradicates toxins, preventing them should be processed by the liver and kidneys.
It is also important that, by quitting, procures drinking enough water. The correct amount of water has always caused controversy. Some people recommend taking two to three liters of water a day, but others argue, rightly, that these amounts of water cause excessive work for the kidneys. If you follow a balanced diet and well maintained, free of excess salt and organic ingredients, such as macrobiotic , probably not even need to drink water. If not, a good tip is to divide your weight in kilos between eight and take that amount of water glasses. For example, if you weigh 72 kilos, 72/8 = 9, 9 glasses of water takes over the day.

Use your brain . The nicotine dependence generates neuronal receptors in different areas. This explains why you can not stop thinking about smoking. One way to win this battle against your own neurons is to carry out that exercise your brain, like reading or doing puzzles. Not only help you quit, but activated neural connections and help you fight aging.

Improve your sleeping habits. According to the Theory of Five Elements, the lungs are most active in the hours before sunrise. That’s one reason why smokers wake up with a sore throat. So if you go to bed and get up earlier, you will help your body has an optimum blood supply at the time of healing. You’ll have more energy and better mood.

Emotionally, the lungs are also linked with the habit to discard what is not needed. They help the body rid of harmful substances, and emotionally free from heavy loads. Just when we got rid of something that bothers us: sigh. Cultivate the habit of forgiveness, of letting go, to let go of material things. And it includes a cigarette in the list. When you value the essential and get rid of your burdens, you feel better.

Come. The cigar changes the metabolism of your body, releasing the stored energy in fat deposits. So many smokers may take several hours without eating without suffering discomfort typical of fasting. But leaving only will you eat your most difficult times. Do not skip meals, eat better Get into the habit up to five times a day, fresh, nutritious food, low glycemic index.

It is estimated that episodes of anxiety and desire for a cigarette last 3 minutes on average. With a clock at hand is easier to resist and remain objective: to many smokers those 3 minutes can seem like hours. It is estimated that the most difficult to quit smoking is at 72 hours, when it occurs it is called “health crisis”. After there, everything is much easier, with a typical recurrence of symptoms after seven days.

The cigar interacts with the coffee. People who smoke and drink coffee usually have strong symptoms of caffeine if you continue to drink during the first 10 days without smoking. It is best to change the coffee tea , or if possible, eliminate all sources of caffeine . Indeed, some people recommend cinnamon tea to quit. Personally I think it’s a bad choice, and that cinnamon reduces the absorption of glucose, and may enhance the dependency syndrome.

Acupuncture acupuncture treatments are designed to treat the symptoms of withdrawal from smoking. In addition, there is evidence that acupuncture helps relax and promotes self-healing, so you can not have negative consequences.

Two plants, lobelia and St. John’s wort have been used as adjunctive therapies for smoking cessation. Lobelia is an alkaloid called lobeline which is used in treating respiratory conditions, but in high doses can be very dangerous for health. The St. John’s wort is more secure, but you have to take precautions because it can react in conjunction with antidepressants, treatments for AIDS and contraceptives (read about natural methods of contraception ). Is contraindicated during pregnancy.

Who can deny that smoking is injurious to health. Actually no, but recently it has opened the debate about whether smoking takes away the hunger and if smoking can help you lose weight. A very interesting and controversial topic at a time.

According to a study conducted by different scientists from the United States, discovered the mechanism by which smoking can lose weight. Apparently the nicotine would have an anorectic effect on certain areas of the brain, reducing food intake and increasing satiety. In fact The objective of this research was to study the exact mechanism of action of nicotine in the brain, as is well known that once you leave the habit of smoking is an increase in weight. It is estimated that the weight is increased from 3 to 7 kilos. While nicotine can have this effect “beneficial” to remove hunger, adverse effects to health, are widely known.

Smoking can result from pulmonary emphysema and death from respiratory, cardiovascular or cancer. The discussion is raised, but such results are very important from a scientific, not to be taken as workhorses for those defenders of the cigarette. Do not forget that smoking is injurious to health, although allow weight loss.

Given the great health scare caused by the snuff at the present time, the natural treatments are erected as a healthy alternative and effective way to control the habit, while side effects and available to everyone.

If you have an iron will can overcome snuff in this way, always keeping in mind that natural products will do nothing to fool the body into believing you are getting the dose of nicotine necessary to prevent withdrawal, generating a state of calm and relaxation. Like what happens with nicotine patches, doses are reduced gradually but instead of using chemicals are used natural, mostly herbs. When withdrawal symptoms are almost imperceptible can leave the treatment.

Apart from the supplements and herbal products, those opposed to the chemicals may find it helpful in other methods such as hypnosis, books or CDs, the sport or homeopathy. It all depends on the tastes and interests of each and the budget available.

Most herbal preparations have a similar impact natural on the smoker, the snuff in the individual causes certain types of state called smoker’s tongue which is the alteration caused by tar, smoke oxidants, carbon dioxide carbon and heat from burning cigarettes resulting in a disturbance and numbing of the taste buds.

The drugs based on natural essential oils and herbs act on these taste buds, making it easier for waste arising which usually are deposited in them by the action of snuff; these residues to produce free tastes terrible, so the act of smoking and not so pleasant.
Therefore, these products act on the physical dependence and psychological on the one hand, to be diminishing the urge to smoke, the body is released from the mental dependency to snuff, because in a period of three or four weeks the body will ask for your dose of nicotine, and secondly, to provide taste repulsive to the palate when smoked, the individual will reach total rejection of the cigar.

A large proportion of smokers opt for pills and drugs that contain nicotine, or products that adhere to the skin, but in reality, is not the best way to quit, since it is ingesting this substance is harmful to the health, and health is still at risk. Although the decrease dependence remains, and no matter how small you can not say that there is a total cure. It only exists when over both psychological dependence and physical, that is why if we turn to natural preparations with medicinal plants and minerals, its assets will act on the states of anxiety and depression directly, which will really feel a state of wellness through the serotonin secreted by the brain, without any risk to the rest of the body.

Effective January 1, 2006 shall be prohibited smoking in workplaces and in establishments catering for more than 100 square meters that do not have smoking areas.

Besides the damage to health in general snuff causes addiction, these are especially significant for the oral health of the smoker.

The mouth is the first recipient of smoke inhaled a cigarette snuff, so that their presence affects all the vocal organs.

The teeth of smokers tend to leave gradually due to the action of nicotine and tar which dissolve in saliva and reach into the interior of the tooth, passing through the enamel, even reaching the dentin. The teeth turn brown brown, which can be black, and are more prone to the emergence of scale, increasing the risk of gingivitis.

In addition, cigarette smoke causes oral mucosal lesions, whose evolution can develop into carcinomas.

Snuff smoke also increases your chances of getting tooth decay. The snuff provokes a reduction of the gum, tooth root is exposed, which is more prone to root caries. The risk is doubled.

The snuff also alters oral microbial flora. This alteration has a direct impact on the appearance of halitosis (bad breath). We must not forget that both the scale and altering the oral microbial flora are the main factors affecting the occurrence of periodontal diseases such as chronic gingivitis, an inflammatory process that affects the surface area of the gingiva, and periodontitis or pyorrhea in more severe cases.

Smoking directly affects the loss of tissue around the tooth, by several factors. Nicotine is a vasoconstrictor effect of gingival microcirculation and reduces the supply of oxygen and nutrients to the gums. Snuff smoke reduces immune competence and promotes the growth of bacteria in plaque, it makes the tooth more prone to tartar buildup and weaker to the action of bacteria that become more aggressive and destroy the tissues supporting the tooth.

Symptoms of periodontal disease more common in smokers are:

Redness of the gums.
Gum tissue.
Mobility in the teeth.
Increased tooth sensitivity, cold and heat.
Bad breath.
Boils and abscesses in the gums.

Oral cancer.
Oral cancer is one of the most aggressive oral diseases, not only for its mortality rate, which also requires treatment with serious consequences. Therefore, become important measures for the prevention of this disease.

In addition to poor oral hygiene, alcohol or oral prostheses that press the oral mucosa, snuff is a decisive factor in the development of cancer. The most common symptoms are profuse bleeding in mouth, white patches or red, delayed healing after extraction, discomfort when swallowing or excessive dryness in the mouth.

According to several studies, cigarette smokers are 27 times more likely to mouth cancer than nonsmokers, 15 times more likely to develop esophageal cancer and 53 times more likely to develop cancer of the larynx.
